However, in reality, there are different arthritis types of which the most ordinary ones are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis refers to a degenerative disorder that assaults multiple body joints; while rheumatoid arthritis stands for an auto-immune state in which the immune system strikes the fit cells of the joints.

The arthritis causes varies from common factors as per the impact to specific ones as per the type. In this article, we will focus on the arthritis causes as per the different types.

Osteoarthritis

The main cause of such a type of arthritis is the loss of the elasticity of the cartilage that serves the function of absorbing shocks. It has been found that a rigid cartilage is wounded quite easily. As the cartilage slowly wears and tears in certain parts, the ligaments as well as the tendons get stretched, which results in pain. Finally, even the bones might rub themselves against one another leading to more severe pain.

Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This inflammatory arthritis type is caused due to the attack on the synovial membrane that is called the synovium. This induces pain and swelling. If this is not treated, it can invite the misery of deformity. Mostly, such arthritis is common in females than males and mostly hits during the ages of 40s to 60s. But, even children and aged people can have it.

Infectious arthritis (Septic Arthritic)

This refers to the contamination in joint tissues and also in the synovial fluid, which is mostly due to the bacterium. However, it can be also induced via a fungus or virus. From here, these pollutants might enter the bloodstream and spread out to infect joints. People who are having some kind of arthritis or infection are more prone to this one.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA)

This refers to the arthritis that has struck a child or a teen whose age is 16 or below. There are many types of JRA and listed below are its three major forms.

  • Pauciarticular JRA: This is common and also the mildest type of JRA. Herein, a child feels the pain in maximum 4 joints.
  • Polyarticular JRA: This is a moderate type that influences more than four joints. With the passing time, it becomes worse.
  • Systemic JRA: This is not that common, but is the serious type. The child feels the pain in a myriad of joints. In worst case, it can affect the organs too.

Rheumatoid Spondylitis

This form of arthritis is actually related to the spine and is also called Ankylosing Spondylitis. One more name reserved for this type is the bechterew’s disease. Such arthritis is mainly caused because of the inflammation among the spine, vertebrae, and pelvis. More than females, males are likely to have this arthritis. Such a type can also induce inflammation in other body areas, spinal firmness, and breathing issues.

Gout

This is quite painful condition that is mainly caused due to the high uric acid levels in the body. Due to this, urate crystals are formed leading to joint pain and tenderness.

Fibromyalgia
